-Che differenza c’è tra un b&b e un hotel?
Non immaginate quanta gente pensi che i b&b siano semplicemente degli alberghi poco costosi senza il ristorante. Non è così. Secondo le leggi italiane un bed&breakfast è un’attività che viene gestita in forma privata nella casa dove il titolare risiede. Questo significa che vi sto ospitando nella casa dove io stesso vivo, sarò io ad accogliervi. Non avendo un servizio di accoglienza 24 ore su 24 come in un hotel è normale che dobbiate farmi sapere per tempo il vostro orario di arrivo perché io possa essere qui ad accogliervi. Una volta arrivati e sbrigate le pratiche del check-in vi consegnerò una copia delle chiavi di casa e sarete liberi di entrare e uscire quando volete.

-What is the difference between a b&b and a hotel?
You wouldn’t believe how many people think that B&Bs are just inexpensive hotels without restaurant. It is not so. According to Italian law, a bed & breakfast is a hosting service managed in the house where the owner lives. This means that I am hosting you in the same house where I live, I will be the one welcoming you. I don’t have a 24/h reception service like in standard hotels, so I kindly require for you to let me know approximately your arrival time. After I have welcomed you and completed the check-in procedures, you will obviously be free to come and go whenever you want.

-Quante camere, quanti posti letto e quanti bagni sono disponibili?
Dispongo di due camere, entrambe fornite con un letto matrimoniale non divisibile in due letti singoli. In entrambe le camere posso aggiungere un letto singolo.
Il bagno è sullo stesso piano delle camere ed è condiviso per le due camere. Questo significa che se siete una famiglia o un gruppo di conoscenti di tre/quattro/cinque/sei persone, e quindi prenotate entrambe le camere, usufruirete dello stesso bagno. Se invece siete una coppia, o una singola persona e prenotate una sola camera, automaticamente bloccherò la possibilità di prenotare la seconda camera che resterà vuota e non condividerete il bagno con degli sconosciuti.

-How many rooms, beds and bathrooms are available?
I have two rooms, in every room there is a double bed not divisible into two single beds. In every room there is the possibility to add a single bed.
The bathroom is shared for the two rooms. This means that if you are a family or a group of three / four / five / six people and you book both the rooms, you will share the same bathroom. But, if you are a single person or a couple and you book only one room, I will automatically block the second room reservation and you will not share the bathroom with strangers.

-C’è la possibilità di aggiungere un letto singolo nelle camere matrimoniali?
Sì, in entrambe le camere è possibile aggiungere un letto singolo.

-Is there the possibility of adding a cot/single bed in the double rooms?
Yes, in every double room there is the possibility to add a single bed.

-Cosa è compreso nel prezzo della camera?
Nel prezzo che pagate per stare qui è compresa la camera, fornita con letti, lenzuola, armadio appendi abiti, zanzariera. Il bagno nel quale troverete asciugamani, sapone, bagnoschiuma e asciugacapelli. La colazione. Wi-Fi. Il parcheggio nella mia proprietà è gratuito. Su richiesta posso fornire asse e ferro da stiro. Per qualsiasi altra esigenza chiedete pure.

-What is included in the room price?
The price you pay to stay here includes the room, equipped with beds, sheets, wardrobe, mosquito net. The bathroom, where you will find towels, soap, shower gel and hairdryer. Free Wi-Fi. The breakfast. Free parking. On request I can provide an iron and an iron board. For any other requirement, feel free to ask.

-C’è la televisione in camera?
No. Fortunatamente quasi nessuno ne sente l’esigenza o la mancanza. Il wi-fi è comunque libero e gratuito quindi se avete un computer potete accedere ad internet per guardare quello che volete. Se il vostro computer ha un lettore dvd potete usufruire della mia collezione con centinaia di film. E se avete voglia di leggere, potete anche prendere un libro dalla mia libreria. Recentemente ho aggiunto, in dotazione delle camere, delle splendide radio vintage.

-Is there a TV in the rooms?
No. My guests rarely feel the need of it and in general they are very happy to be in a place where there is no television. However, the wi-fi is free so if you have a computer you can log in to watch what you want. If your computer has a DVD reader you can take advantage of my collection with hundreds of DVD movies. And you can also borrow a book from my library. I recently added some gorgeous vintage radios to the rooms.

-C’è la possibilità di pranzare e cenare presso il B&B?
Per legge posso offrire agli ospiti paganti del b&b solo letto e colazione. Quindi non mi è concesso cucinare altri pasti che risultino nei compensi relativi all’alloggio che offro. Sempre per legge non posso farvi utilizzare la mia cucina.
Certamente farò tutto il possibile per venire incontro alle vostre esigenze, Vi farò volentieri un caffè o un tè a qualsiasi ora lo vogliate, posso scaldare l’acqua che vi serve per il biberon dei vostri bambini. Insomma, la cucina c’è, voi non potete usarla ma io sì e nei limiti del ragionevole sono a vostra disposizione.
Sarà sempre un piacere per me consigliarvi ottimi posti qui intorno dove mangiare molto bene a seconda delle vostre esigenze.
Se siete disperati perché non sapete dove andare a mangiare, se me lo fate sapere per tempo, posso prepararvi un pasto e accogliervi alla mia tavola in via del tutto informale.
Se ne avete bisogno, potete anche usufruire della sala da pranzo per consumare del cibo take away come una pizza d’asporto. Ovviamente la comunicazione aiuta la convivenza (ricordatevi che questa è la casa dove vivo), quindi se volete tornare a casa con una pizza e usufruire del soggiorno, ditemelo prima, mandatemi un messaggio, e sarà un piacere venire incontro alle vostre esigenze.
Vi chiedo cortesemente di non consumare cibo all’interno delle camere da letto.

-Is it possible to have lunch and dinner at your place?
According to current regulations I can offer to my guests just bed and breakfast, I am not allowed to cook other meals for you, neither you can use my kitchen.
It will be a pleasure for me to recommend super nice places around here where you can eat very well.
I will certainly do everything possible to meet your needs, I will gladly make you a coffee or tea at any time you want, I can heat the water you need for your children’s bottles. In short, the kitchen is there, you can’t use it but I can, and within reasonable limits I’m at your disposal.
If you are desperate because you don’t know where to eat, and if you tell me in advance, I can cook you a meal and welcome you to my table in a completely informal way. If you need, you can also use the dining room table to have take-away meals like a take-away pizza. Obviously communication helps cohabitation (remember? This is the house where I live), so if you want to come back here at home with a take-away pizza and eat it in the living room, please let me know it, and it will be a pleasure for me to meet your needs.
I kindly ask you not to have food inside the bedrooms.

-C’è la possibilità di alloggiare per lunghi periodi?
Capita che qualcuno mi contatti chiedendo se può alloggiare per uno o più mesi. La risposta veloce è no. La risposta estesa è: non posso farvi usare la cucina, e farvi alloggiare per un mese intero non significa che io possa permettermi di proporvi una tariffa particolarmente agevolata. Quindi immagino che nessuno abbia modo e voglia di pagare prezzo pieno e arrangiarsi a mangiare fuori a pranzo e cena per periodi così lunghi. Vi conviene rivolgervi ad altro tipo di strutture, a chi fa locazione turistica o chi affitta interi appartamenti per brevi periodi. Per le lunghe permanenza un b&b come il mio non fa al caso vostro.

-Is it possible to book a room for a long stay?
Occasionally someone contacts me asking if they can stay here for one or two months or more. The quick answer is no. The extended answer is: I can’t let you use the kitchen, and letting you stay for a whole month doesn’t mean I can offer you a particularly discounted rate. So I guess no one has the desire to pay full price and have lunch and dinner out for such long periods. You should look for to other types of structures, like who rents entire apartments for short periods. For very long stays, a b&b like mine is not for you.

-Come posso prenotare, quanto costa una camera a notte?

-How can I book a room? What is the price?
Please write me an email at bebcarlonga@gmail.com and tell me how many people you are, how many rooms you need, your day of arrival and day of departure. I’ll write you back giving you informations about availability and price. You can also book online, you’ll find me on airbnb.it and booking.com.

-A che ora posso arrivare / andare via / fare colazione?
La normalità prevede che arriviate qui nel tardo pomeriggio/sera, che ve ne andiate subito dopo la colazione del vostro ultimo giorno di permanenza, che facciate colazione tra le 7 e le 9. Ricordatevi che non vivo di solo B&B e anche io ho delle cose da fare durante la giornata. Per qualsiasi esigenza diversa, fatemela sapere e prometto che farò il possibile per venirvi incontro.

-What are the times allowed for check-in / check-out / breakfast?
Normally you can have your check-in in the late afternoon/evening, your check-out after breakfast on your last day of stay, you can have breakfast between 7 and 9 AM. Remember that B&B is not my only job and I also have other things to do during the day. For any different needs about your check in/out and breakfast time, please let me know and I promise I will do all my best to help you.

-A mio figlio capita ogni tanto di bagnare il letto durante la notte, è un problema?
Dopo due esperienze poco piacevoli, aggiungo questa domanda che nessuno mi ha mai fatto nella realtà. Son cose che succedono ai bambini, è normale. Non è normale andare via senza dire nulla o peggio ancora girando il materasso sotto sopra sperando che io non me ne accorga. Se sapete che ai vostri figli può capitare questo piccolo inconveniente, ditemelo prima senza alcuna vergogna. Provvederò a mettere tra materasso e lenzuola un apposito telo assorbente.

-My child occasionally wets the bed during the night, is that a problem?
After two unpleasant experiences, I add this question that no one has ever asked me in reality. It simply happens, with young children it is normal. It is not normal to leave the house without saying anything or even worse turning the mattress upside down hoping that I do not notice. If you know that this little inconvenience can happen to your children, please tell me first, there is no shame, and I will put a special absorbent cloth between the mattress and the sheets before your arrival.

-Posso pagare con carta di credito / bancomat? Rilasci fattura?
Fiscalmente l’attività del b&b è gestita in forma privata con codice fiscale non con partita Iva, quindi rilascio una normale ricevuta fiscale e accetto pagamenti in contanti da effettuare la mattina del check-out. Non ho la possibilità di ricevere pagamenti con carte di credito/bancomat. Prenotando presso la mia struttura non direttamente da me ma attraverso siti come Booking o Airbnb potrete pagare online e riceverete dai suddetti siti una fattura per il vostro pagamento.

-Can I pay with credit card? Can I have an invoice?
The B&B business is managed privately without a VAT number, so I’ll give you a normal tax receipt and I accept cash payments. Your payment has to be done on your check-out morning. I do not have the possibility to receive payments with credit / debit cards. By booking at my b&b through sites such as booking.com or airbnb you can pay online and you will receive an invoice for your payment from these sites.

-Cosa c’è per colazione?
Faccio del mio meglio per offrirvi una buonissima colazione tipicamente italiana. Sul tavolo al vostro risveglio troverete pane, torte, latte, burro, marmellata, miele, frutta, yogurt, cereali, caffè e tè. Tutto il più possibile biologico e locale. Ogni tanto capita che ospiti stranieri si stupiscano di non trovare uova e pancetta. La mia risposta è: Cari ospiti, sto cercando di offrirvi un’esperienza autentica e locale. Se vi aspettavate di trovare la stessa colazione che fate a casa vostra, tanto valeva non spostarvi da lì.

-What will we eat for breakfast?
I do my best to offer you a very good, typically Italian, breakfast. On the table, when you wake up, you will find bread, cakes, milk, butter, jam, honey, fruits, yogurt, cereals, coffee and tea. Everything is organic and local as much as possible. Sometimes it happens that foreigners are surprised when they don’t find bacon and eggs on the breakfast table. My answer is: Dear guests, what I am trying to do is to offer you an authentic and local experience. If you were expecting the same breakfast you usually have at your home, you would have done better not to move from there.

-Siamo vegani / vegetariani / celiaci / intolleranti al lattosio, ci fai fare colazione lo stesso?
Sì, se mi avvisate per tempo posso tranquillamente venire incontro alle vostre esigenze alimentari particolari.

-We are vegan / vegetarian / celiac /lactose intolerant, can you arrange a breakfast for us?
Yes, if you let me know in advance, I can easily arrange an alternative breakfast for your special dietary needs.

-Gli animali sono ammessi?
Ho convissuto per 13 anni con un cane (Ozzy è morta due anni fa, potete vederla in qualche foto nella galleria immagini) e per i primi tre anni di attività del b&b ho accettato la presenza dei cani degli ospiti nella mia casa. Ci sono state esperienze molto piacevoli, ma anche alcune molto sgradevoli che mi hanno fatto decidere di non offrire più questo servizio sulle piattaforme di prenotazione online. La colpa non è stata degli animali, ma di alcune persone che non sono in grado di possedere animali e di viaggiare con loro. Se volete, potete comunque contattarmi e chiedermi se sono disponibile ad ospitare anche il vostro cane così che io possa spiegarvi quali sono le regole della casa. Già il fatto che stiate leggendo questa pagina del mio sito potrebbe indicare che rientrate nella categoria delle esperienze piacevoli.
Ad ogni modo, queste sono le regole minime richieste. Se non vi stanno bene, sono spiacente ma il mio b&b non fa per voi.
-accetto all’interno della mia casa, su richiesta, la presenza di cani e non di gatti,
-il vostro cane sarà sempre sotto la vostra diretta supervisione, non potete abbandonarlo in camera mentre voi andate in giro.
-non fate salire il vostro cane sul letto, sulle sedie, sulle poltrone, sui divani,
-portatevi l’occorrente per far dormire il cane per terra e in nessun caso sul letto,
-portate l’occorrente per farlo mangiare e bere e evitate di farlo mangiare e bere nelle camere, dove il pavimento è in legno naturale. Il vostro cane potrà mangiare e bere al piano terra o meglio ancora in giardino,
-sappiate che il mio giardino è molto grande ma non è recintato,
-vi sarà fornita una pala per tirare su le deiezioni solide del vostro animale, nel caso capitassero nella zona antistante la casa, per poterle poi buttare nel campo dove non danno nessun fastidio,
-se capitasse che il vostro cane la fa in casa, o che combina qualsiasi altro tipo di guaio, dovete avvisarmi immediatamente per poter porre rimedio tempestivamente.
-la presenza del vostro animale è soggetta a un sovrapprezzo sulla tariffa di soggiorno.

-Are pets allowed?
I lived with a dog for 13 years (Ozzy died two years ago, you can see her in some pictures in the gallery) and for the first three years of b&b activity I accepted the presence of the guests’ dogs in my home. I had very pleasant experiences, but also some very unpleasant ones that have made me decide to no longer offer this service on online booking platforms. The fault was not of the animals, of course, but of some people who are unable to own animals and travel with them. If you want, you can still contact me and ask me if I am available to host your dog so that I can explain to you what the house rules are. The very fact that you are reading this page of my website could indicate that you fall into the category of pleasant experiences.
Anyway, these are the minimum rules required, if they don’t suit you, I’m really sorry but it means that I’m not the right host for you.
-I accept inside my house, upon request, the presence of dogs and not cats,
-your dog will always be under your direct supervision, you cannot leave it in the room while you go away around.
-do not let your dog climb on the bed, on the chairs, on the sofas,
-bring the necessary equipment to make the dog sleep on the floor and in no case on the bed,
-bring what you need to let the dog eat and drink and avoid letting the dog eat and drink in the rooms, where the floor is made of natural wood. Your dog can eat and drink on the ground floor or even better in the garden,
-be aware that my garden is very large but it is not fenced,
-you will be provided with a shovel to pick up your pet’s solid droppings, in the case they happen in the area in front of the house, so that you can throw them in the field where they don’t cause any nuisance,
-if it happens that your dog does it inside the house, or that gets into any other kind of trouble, you must notify me immediately in order to remedy it promptly.
-the presence of your pet is subject to a surcharge on your staying rate.

-Posso fumare all’interno di casa tua?
Sono un ex fumatore, conosco il problema, ma non vi è consentito fumare all’interno della casa. Questo significa che anche stare affacciati alla finestra della camera e fumare non è consentito. Ho un grande giardino dove potrete fumare quanto volete, avendo cura di non lasciare per favore mozziconi in giro.

-Is smoking allowed indie the structure?
I quit smoking two years ago, I know the problem, but you are not allowed to smoke inside the house. This means that even smoking leaning your face off the bedroom window is not allowed. I have a large garden where you can smoke as much as you like, taking care not to leave cigarette butts lying around.

-Posso parcheggiare la mia auto, camper, furgone, moto, bici?
Ho un grande giardino non recintato dove potete parcheggiare liberamente e gratuitamente qualsiasi mezzo motorizzato vogliate. Non dispongo di parcheggio coperto né sorvegliato, ma siamo in un posto molto tranquillo e non ci sarà mai nessun problema. Sarò felice di farvi sistemare le vostre biciclette all’interno della casa in un posto chiuso e al sicuro.

-Can I park my car, camper, RV, van, motorbike, bike?
I have a large not fenced garden where you can park for free any motorized vehicle you want. I don’t have any covered or supervised parking spots, but we are in a very quiet place and there will never be any problem. I will be happy to have your bicycles stored inside the house in a safe and closed place.

-C’è la possibilità di prendere delle bici o scooter a noleggio?
Sono anche io un ciclista e sono in contatto con diversi negozi nella zona. Se mi contattate con relativo anticipo posso mettervi in contatto con chi fa al caso vostro, a seconda che abbiate bisogno di normali bici da passeggio, bici da corsa, mountain bike, gravel, e-bike eccetera. Potrete organizzare voi stessi il noleggio delle vostre bici oppure posso occuparmene io e farvele trovare qui già pronte al vostro arrivo. Per quanto riguarda gli scooter, a pochi chilometri da qui c’è un noleggio di Vespe Piaggio (scooter moderni) dove potrete semplicemente procurarvi le Vespe per qualche giorno o acquistare uno dei loro pacchetti con percorsi organizzati di ogni tipo.

-Is there the possibility of renting bikes or scooters?
I am a cyclist and I am in contact with several shops in the area. If you ask me about it in advance, I can give you the contact of the most suitable renter for you, depending on what kind of bike you wish (normal bikes, racing road bikes, mountain bikes, gravel bikes, e-bikes etc). You can organize the rental of your bikes yourself or I can take care about everything and you will find your rental bikes here ready at your arrival. As for the scooters, a few kilometers from here there is a Piaggio Vespa rental (modern scooters) where you can simply get the Vespas for a few days or get one of their packages with organized tours of all kinds.

-Posso prenotare una stanza a ore?
Non stupitevi, me lo chiedono abbastanza spesso. Premesso che non è assolutamente di mio interesse cosa facciate nella vostra stanza durante la vostra permanenza, ho comunque dei vicini di casa e come si dice: il paese è piccolo e la gente mormora. Non ho piacere che la popolazione locale abbia la percezione che gestisco una casa per appuntamenti. Quindi la risposta è no.

-Can I rent a room for just few hours?
Don’t be surprised, they ask me quite often. Even though it is absolutely not of my interest how you spend your time in your room, I have neighbors and as we say in Italy: “the town is small and people murmur”. I don’t want the local population has the perception that I run a dating house. So the answer is no.

-Ci sono problemi se siamo gay lesbiche trans eccetera eccetera?
Probabilmente nel frattempo le cose sono già cambiate, ma quando ho aperto il B&B, su alcuni siti di prenotazione automatica ho dovuto specificare se sono gay friendly.
La porta è aperta a chiunque abbia voglia di passare delle notti qui e farci colazione. Non sono interessato ai vostri gusti sessuali. Preoccupatevi solo di essere umani.

-Is your B&B LGBTQ+ friendly?
On some B&B online booking platforms I have to specify if my B&B is gay friendly.
The door is open to anyone who wants to spend some nights here and have breakfast. I’m not interested in your sexual tastes. Just be humans.
